What Valentine’s Day Means

As we continue to battle Covid-19 here in the U.S. and around the world I think it is important to ask ourselves what Valentine’s Day means.

How will this virus change how we act and what we can do to celebrate this special event?

It has been a long tradition to spend time with loved ones and family on the 14th day of February-Husbands and Wives, Boyfriends and Girlfriends, etc.

Valentine’s Day actually has a dark past as it is said that the name has come from the ancient Romans. On Feb. 14th in 3rd century A.D, Emperor Claudius II executed two men, both with the name Valentine. Their death has since been honored by the Catholic Church by celebrating St. Valentine’s Day.

We celebrate Valentine’s Day by sending Valentine's quotes, and messages to show our love and affection for those we care deeply about. Below you will find some rather unique ways of trying to connect this year with all the Covid-19 restrictions which may possibly prevent you from actually seeing those you care about in person. The ideas we present are good for both males and females and could be used by either sex in providing a gift that will long be remembered.

1.    Lovebox Spinning Heart Messenger- Lovebox is a wired messaging system that connects to an app that allows you to send photos or drawings to stay connected to your loved ones or friends. When your loved one gets a message, the heart turns; then you lift the lid on the box and your message will emerge on the screen.

2.    Custom Valentine’s Day Photo Watch- Personalized fashion watch that you can upload a photo that will be used as the watch background under the glass front. Great way to showcase a picture of the two lovebirds and have your special partner always have the image around their wrist.

3.    HuggyBox- Send a virtual hug in the way of a heartfelt message and tear off perforated valentine’s heart. Sending virtual hugs is a great way to show that special person how much you care, the impact is longer felt than just sending or giving a greeting card.

4.    Personalized Hearts Four- Across Game- Really neat way to challenge your other half playing a game based on connect four. You can have both your names cut into the game board to create a one-of-a-kind experience. As you drop the disks down, they take shape of valentine’s hearts due to the cutouts in the game board.

 5. Personalized Heart Jigsaw Puzzle- You can create a custom puzzle and turn your favorite experiences into an enjoyable mind game that can be shared with your loved ones or friends.  You can send it across the miles and bring that smile you so want to see on your partner’s face, even if you are not able to spend the day in person.

These ideas are just a small portion of really unique and exciting products on the market you can surprise that someone special with. They all range in price from $3.99 - $120 at the time of writing this blog post. This should provide great ideas no matter what your budget. So, whether you’re enjoying time with your significant other or spending valentines with friends (virtually of course), we hope you enjoy these ideas and they help to spread some much-needed smiles during these challenging times.
